In this subscription, you can experience two internationally successful violin virtuosos: the Japanese violinist Midori and her German colleague Frank Peter Zimmermann. Naturally with compositions that are among the crown jewels of the repertoire: Elgar's only violin concerto is a highlight for all violinists, as is Béla Bartók's 2nd Violin Concerto, one of the most important and most frequently performed pieces of the 20th century. The Swede Anders Hillborg knew exactly why he dedicated his exhilarating 2nd Piano Concerto to the great pianist Emanuel Ax.
