This subscription offers a particularly varied mix of immortal classical masterpieces, rarely performed treasures and exciting new discoveries. Symphonies by Mozart and Beethoven meet the impressionistic soundscapes of Maurice Ravel or Albert Roussel, François-Xavier Roth lets Schumann's “Rhenish Symphony” flow golden. York Höller, Unsuk Chin and Toshio Hosokawa give the avant-garde a face. The soloists Alexander Melnikov, Frank Peter Zimmermann and Bertrand Chamayou, Ariane Matiakh and Ivor Bolton on the podium: it simply doesn't get any better than this.
