Harp – Orchestra academyJernej is a 20-year-old harpist from Kranj Slovenia. In 2022, when he graduated from the France Prešeren High School in Kranj and was waiting for his matriculation results, he took part in the Bloomington Harp Competition in America as the youngest harpist there.
Last September, he started postgraduate studies at the Hague Royal Conservatory in the Netherlands and in October in the class of Prof. Patrizia Tassini at the Jacoppo Tomadini Conservatory of Music in Udine he graduated with his bachelor's degree. He loves to perform and participate in competitions. He has received more than 20 absolute and first prizes during this time. Among the most important ones are certainly the second prize at the international competition Pratte in Sweden, the third prize at the international competition in Szeged, Hungary, the first prize at the Unicef Palmanova competition, the first prize at the prestigious Italian competition Premio degli Arti in Turin, which enabled him to appear on RAI TV and solo recitals in Ciogha at the Festival of Young Musicians and at the Lago Maggiore Music Festival. In Slovenia, at the last competition of harpists, Temsig he received the 1st prize and a special prize for the best performance of a Slovenian composition and 100 points. At the Conservatory in The Hague, he also received the "Keep an Eye Talent award" award for the best performance in the entrance exam last year.
Already at the beginning of his studies in The Hague in the class of Prof. Sylvain Blassel successfully auditioned for the position of first harpist in the NYO Youth Netherlands Orchestra. With this orchestra, he played in January in Amsterdam in the Concertgebouw Hall, The Hague in the Amare Hall, Rotterdam, Apeldoorn, Utrecht, and Nijmegen. In the spring he also played with the orchestra of South Holland and gave concerts in Eindhoven and Tilburg.
He is happy that Zavarovalnica Triglav »Zavod Vse bo vredu« also supported his talent and granted him sponsorship funds. In April, he took part in the international harpist competition in Velenje and received a gold plaque and second prize.
