Margarida Martins
Oboe – Orchestra academyMargarida Martins is a portuguese oboe player and an Academy member of the Gürzenich Orchester Köln. She was also an Akademist in Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and Praktikantin in the Musikkollegium Winterthur for the season 21/22, and continues to collaborate with them as Guest Player.
Margarida is in her 1st year of Master Performance in HSLU Musik (Luzern) in the class of Ivan Podyomov. She finished her Master Specialized in Orchestra in HEMU - Lausanne in the class of Jean-Louis Capezzali with whom she also completed her Bachelor with the highest marks. She started learning the oboe in Portugal with her teacher Hugo Ribeiro in ARTAVE.
Margarida has already collaborated with several orchestras such as Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Staatsorchester Rheinische Philarmonie, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Schweizer Jugend Sinfonieorchester, Animato Foundation Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Orquestra XXI and worked with famous conductors such as Heinz Holliger, Charles Dutoit, Michael Sanderling, Thomas Dausgaard, Riccardo Minasi, Elim Chan, Roberto González-Monjas, Peter Rundel, Pierre Bleuse, Dinis Sousa, Joana Carneiro etc.
During her musical career she won several prizes in Portugal such as: 1st prize in the Competition »Terras de la Salette«, the 2nd Prize in »Prémio Jovens Músicos« Oboe, Superior Level, and 1st Prize in »Festival Verão Clássico». In Italy, she won the 3rd prize at the »IV Competition for Young Oboists Luca Figaroli« . In 2019 she was awarded the »Young Artist Prize« in The MURI Competition in Switzerland.
