Sara Molina Castellote
Violin – Orchestra academySara Molina was born in Madrid, Spain, where she completed her Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance, in Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. She graduated with honors in 2018. During her Bachelor studies she spent one year of Erasmus exchange at the Hochschule für Musik München in Germany, studying under the tutelage of Professor Christoph Poppen.
During the next years, she studied her Master's degree at Codarts University of Arts Rotterdam, finishing in 2020. During this period, she worked closely with Gordan Nikolic and Cecilia Ziano.
Sara's professional journey includes an appointment as an academist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra during the 2021/22 season. Her true passion lies in chamber music. She has had the honor of participating in various festivals and masterclasses, receiving lesson from musicians like Lukas Hagen, from the Hagen Quartett, Cibrán Sierra (Cuarteto Quiroga), and Carole Petitdemange (Quatour Ardeo), or with Antti Tikkanen and Tomas Djupsjöbacka (from Meta4 Quartet) during EUYO Chamber Music residency in Ferrara 2019. These experiences have enriched her greatly and reinforced her commitment to chamber music.
Sara has collaborated with orchestras around Europe including the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional de España Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra during 2021-2023. Furthermore, she has being part of orchestras, such as the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the European Union Youth Orchestra, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchester, during the years 2017-2020.
