The German Conducting Award is an international competition for young conductors organised by the German Music Council in partnership with the Cologne Philharmonic, the Cologne Opera, the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and the WDR Symphony Orchestra. It thus guarantees the candidates work at the highest artistic level. They have to prove themselves on pieces from both the concert and opera repertoire. And yet, in addition to all the technical skills, they still need energy, passion and persuasiveness.
