The German Conducting Award is an international competition for young conductors organised by the German Music Council in partnership with the Cologne Philharmonic, the Cologne Opera, the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and the WDR Symphony Orchestra.
From the 2nd round onwards, the audience can follow the judging rounds.
In the 3rd evaluation round, three candidates will rehearse opera repertoire with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and the ensemble of the Cologne Opera and the International Opera Studio Cologne as well as symphonic repertoire with the WDR Symphony Orchestra.
