Programmes for Families
What could be better than doing something together with the whole family? With its programme, the Gürzenich Orchestra offers all family members the opportunity to experience and immerse themselves in music. This is achieved in concert formats specially designed for families, such as the Family Concert and "Singing with Class!". The family subscription and the family ticket are also tailored to the needs of families and make a visit to the Kölner Philharmonie something special for young and old alike.

Out and About
with the Hänneschen TheatreOut and About with the Hänneschen Theatre
Wer kennt es nicht, das Kölner Hänneschen Theater? Wie das Gürzenich-Orchester eine urkölsche Institution. Im Ohrenauf!-Jubiläumsjahr tun sich diese beiden Größen der Kulturlandschaft zu einer gemeinsamen Produktion zusammen. Aber nicht auf der großen Bühne, sondern ganz bodenständig im Bürgerzentrum um die Ecke. Gemeinsam bringen wir eine musikalisch-kölsche Fassung der bekannten Dornröschen-Geschichte direkt hinein in die Kölner Veedel und zu den Menschen. Unser Motto: Raus aus dem Konzertsaal, rein in die Stadt.

Family Concert
Once upon a time ...
Once upon a time... a magical garden, a sleeping princess and animals celebrating carnival.
Fairy tales and stories allow us to immerse ourselves in fantastic worlds. And what better way to do this than with the right music? In this concert, the Gürzenich Orchestra tells the musical stories of Ma mère l'oye and the Carnival of the Animals. The illustrator Grégoire Pont brings the worlds to life on a large canvas.
This concert marks the end of the 25th anniversary of Ohrenauf! Let us surprise you with what else will happen.

Cinematic
Music has the ability to affect our emotions and create moods. It can move us to tears, boost our confidence or give us goose bumps. This power of music is particularly used in films to add atmosphere to scenes and deliberately control the audience's emotions. But how does it work?
In the family concert »Cinematic« the Gürzenich Orchestra explores works composed specifically for film as well as classical compositions that are often used in films. Together we will experience how music stimulates the imagination and brings stories to life.

GO Museum
Eltern ins Konzert, Kinder ins Museum – das geht!
Und zwar mit unserem neuen Angebot für Familien, das wir zusammen mit dem Museumsdienst Köln auf die Beine gestellt haben: Während die Eltern eins unserer Sinfoniekonzerte in der Philharmonie besuchen, können die Kinder einen spannenden Workshop im Museum Ludwig erleben. So ermöglichen wir einen unkomplizierten kulturellen Ausflug für die ganze Familie.
Registration
Eltern kaufen regulär Karten für das jeweilige Konzert. Mit der Buchungsnummer können Kinder kostenlos über ein Anmeldeformular für die Workshops registriert werden.
Eine Anmeldung ist bis Donnerstag vor Konzert möglich. Die Teilnahme ist begrenzt.
Treffpunkt für die Workshops ist die Infotheke im Foyer des Museum Ludwig um 10:40 Uhr am Konzerttag. Der Workshop endet um 13:15 Uhr ebenfalls dort.

Singing with class!
A Carnival of Emotions
Charlie finds himself in a dilemma: Lou seems to be distancing herself more and more, showing less interest in spending time together. In an effort to uplift her spirits, Charlie proposes the idea of arranging an "Emotion Carnival". They ponder which emotions induce laughter, provide the most comfort, evoke fear, or cause overwhelming joy. Together, Lou and Charlie embark on a whimsical journey to explore the depths of emotional power, inviting both young and old to join them on a musical expedition into the realm of feelings.
Over the span of two months, 300 second-grade students will collaborate on a composition by Thierry Tidrow, inspired by a libretto penned by Pauline Jacob, under the guidance of vocal instructors. The culmination of their efforts will be showcased in two concerts alongside the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. Just like any carnival, attendees are encouraged to embrace various (emotional) disguises.
